Reactive power compensation panel

IRBIS Technology offers reduce power losses in Your company by installing reactive power compensation panel.

With this panel is possible to compensate large part of reactive power, increasing power factor of working devices up to cos φ=0,95..0,99; in the same time current and loads are reducing.

Installed the RPC cabinet, You can essentially save on the bills for electricity.

What the reactive power means?

In power networks are consumed two types of energy - active and reactive.

Active energy P (kW) - is the useful energy consumed by loads such as lamps, heaters, computers, etc.

Reactive energy Q (kVAr) - is consumed only for the excitation of the electromagnetic field in electric machines, electric motors and in transformer cores.

Power factor (P/S) is equal with cos φ

Reactive energy circulation in electrical networks leads to:

  • transformer overloads;

  • cable overloads;

  • additional power loss;

  • voltage drop;

  • power consumption increasing;

  • active power decreasing.

In order to avoid such consequences, it is necessary to create a source of reactive energy in close proximity to the load, in order to eliminate leakage of reactive energy into the network. This operation is called "power factor correction". It involves connecting the capacitors that produce reactive power consumed by the load with the opposite sign.

The diagram shows that the total power S' decreases, and the power factor P / S' increases.
